The German-German Border Trail is an appealing combination of historical chronicle, bicycle tourism, leisure & culture. It presents the inhuman former border-strip between East & West germany, the so-called "death-strip', as a living ecological monument; a huge natural habitat that is today a unique memorial to the german division & re-unification.

The 1,400km long bicycle trail is divided into a total of 37 stages, each of which starts & finishes by a railway station, wherever possible. This bicycle touring atlas includes detailed maps of the countryside & of many cities & towns, precise route descriptions, information about historic & cultural sites as well as background information & a comprehensive list of overnight accomodations. The one thing this atlas cannot provide is fine cycling weather, but we hope you encounter nothing but sunshine & gentle tailwinds.
