    World Francigena Ultramarathon 2018

From Siena to Acquapendente - Tuscany, Lazio

A slow path along the white roads of Val d'Arbia and Val d' Orcia to discover breathtaking views and paths, touching the most evocative places of Tuscany and Lazio along the Via Francigena.

On October, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21, 2018 Siena hosts the second edition of the World Francigena Ultra Marathon, at a walking and Nordic walking pace, along the ancient route of Sigerico up to Acquapendente. The event includes more routes with the opportunity to participate in the first non-stop 120 km long run from Siena to Acquapendente.

The itinerary crosses some of the most evocative villages of the Via Francigena between Tuscany and Alto Lazio: from Monteroni D'Arbia to Buonconvento and then to Torrenieri, a hamlet of Montalcino; San Quirico D'Orcia and Bagno Vignoni, along Gallina, a hamlet of Castiglion D'Orcia up to Radicofani, descending to Ponte a Rigo, the hamlet of San Casciano Dei Bagni and Proceno.

Participants will have the opportunity to take a step into the history, going through ancient villages, rural landscapes and uncontaminated natural areas to live a unique experience in Europe.
