Mediterranea Project is a nautical, cultural and scientific initiative about the relations between people, born by an idea of the writer and sailor Simone Perotti and conducted with a group of 51 people, the “Mediterranei”. The theater of this expedition is the Mediterranean sea, the center of the ancient world, where civilizations, languages, cultures, arts, ethnic groups and different thoughts meet. The expedition consists in sailing around the Mediterranean region to meet the people, places and tastes and listen to the stories of the Mediterranean, an area made homogeneous by its millenary story and fertile by its inexhaustible diversity and cultural richness. This cultural cruise represents a perfect occasion to stress the importance of the Mediterranean Heritage and to promote the Intercultural dialogue and the European Year of Cultural Heritage, following ancient Phoenicians’ Routes.
