Europe for Citizens is the EU 2014-2020 programme, aiming at contributing to citizens' understanding of the EU, its history and diversity and at fostering European citizenship and improving conditions for civic and democratic participation at EU level.
In view of 2018 Annnual Advisory Forum of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, a preparation meeting was held at the European Institute of Cultural Routes (Luxembourg) on 17th January.
HORIZON2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation Programme ever: over 7 years (2014-2020), nearly EUR80 billions of funding are allocated for the implementation of Innovation Europe, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimes at securing Europe's global competitiveness.
The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, officially informed the Council of Europe of Turkeys's accession to the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes, registered as of 15th January 2018.

On the 12th January, Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement and Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes, EPA and EICR staff met with representatives of the "Liberation Route Europe", in order to discuss their project and the necessary developments, in order to possibly apply for the" Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" certification.
